Excellent description of Romans 12 and 13. However, I am particularly interested in Romans 12:19: “Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is ….”
I am a little confused by the statements in my Bible (The Christian Growth Study Bible, New International Version) following this passage which refer to Leviticus 19:18 Pr 20:22; 24:29 and Deuteronomy 32:35:
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you heap burning coals on his head.”
I interpret this last quote as analogist to “kill them with kindness” and if so is not that a form of revenge in itself??
